Stopping My Computer Procrastination???

For a day in a half, my laptop was off. I was left with my Blackberry, which I am convinced that I am secretly in a relationship with and can’t seem to shake. Yet that was not enough, I needed my laptop, but I knew I needed a break, because I was showing symptoms of the disease called Procrastination. I was internet surfing, Facebooking, and blogging too much and nothing was getting accomplished. I’m not saying these tasks cause procrastination, but sometimes it can be a time waster if not used properly. So I have conducted my list of three things that make me procrastinate to help me before I need to go on medication, hospitalization, or rehabilitation.

1) The internet - If I have spent more than an hour surfing and nothing productive has come out of it, I am in procrastination mode. If I am completing a report, researching information, and I haven’t come close to completing it, I need to stop and move on to the next task. Time has officially been wasted.

2) Facebook – If I find myself spending hours upon hours reading profiles, walls, commenting on walls, and looking at pictures…..sorry to say I am procrastinating. I am especially wasting time if on a friend’s wall there is a tagged photo and I can see someone else’s pictures and I am viewing them like a voyeur, I am definitely wasting time. Actually, I need help with the voyeurism dysfunction.

3) Blogging – If I am blogging all times of the day, when I really have nothing to say….sorry, I need help. Especially, if I am viewing my stats to see how many people visited my blog and what site they come from and checking to see if I have comments. This is a definite symptom of a need for some serious therapy. If your blog is good, people will read it.

I hope my list can help someone to stop procrastinating. It has definitely helped me to give myself internet/Facebook/Blogging free days, to live a procrastinating free life.

Yet, we really need to study the facts and not allow the media to influence our beliefs and decisions. I have been staying abreast of the health care reform campaigns, debates, and town meetings. 60 Minutes of Michael Vick

As I sit here watching 60 minutes, with Michael Vick, I do feel that he understands his failures and that he is remorseful. I guess people want to see him show a massive display of emotions, like cry, with snot/nasal mucus erecting from his nose, pleading for the public’s forgiveness and sympathy. I don’t think that is his character.

I’m hoping he doesn’t disappoint those people who are helping him. I want this to be the last time I hear about Michael Vick and his dog fighting, but it won’t. The lovely Philadelphia Eagles fans will make a point to remind him every chance they get.

Philly Vigilante Justice

This is the second time this year that my fellow Philadelphians have taken the law into their own hands and made a citizens arrest of a rapist….Sorry, let me be journalistically correct…”Alledge rapist”.

Well, I am not saying that I condone apprehending a “alledge rapist” and beating him down and practically killing him until the police show up, all I’m saying is…..that……. he got what was coming to him.

It is about time that my fellow Philadelphians take their streets and neighborhoods back and not hide in fear of rapist, killers, drug dealers, etc. We need to do away with this “don’t snitch” and “I don’t want to get involved” mentality and stand up for our community and each other. If we get involved, we can contribute to creating a safer environment in which we all live.

Starting Over in the City of Brotherly Love

As I sit here, watching the world news, I am very suprised that they are dedicating so much time to Michael Vick. Okay, Thursday passed….It’s over. He is apart of the Philadelphia Eagles…Get over it!!!! Let us use the world news to discuss more important issues…like….THE WORLD…and not debate if Michael Vick is repentant and should be starting over in the the City of Brotherly Love. He dog fought, he pleaded guilty, went to jail, served his time, apologized, shows remorse, and wants to change his life. Let us leave him alone, and let him start over in our City of Brotherly Love…The City That Loves You Back……Philadelphia. (Yes…I screamed when I said THE WORLD)
